Samsung, the world leader in consumer electronics and digital solutions, announced the launch of its new 3D LED televisions to the Lebanese market.
The company held a ceremony on Tuesday, May 25 2010 at the Ociel restaurant in Beirut to announce the official launch of the televisions. The ceremony was attended by VIPs, media representatives, Samsung MEA and Levant managers and Cherfan, Tawil & Co.(CTC) – Samsung’s official distributors in Lebanon.
“This new product redefines the concept of home entertainment technologies” commented Mr. Sangsuk Roh, President of Samsung Levant. “The launch of Samsung’s revolutionary 3D LED televisions in the Lebanese market comes to reaffirm our commitment to continually introduce Samsung’s technological breakthroughs to the region.”
Mr. Justin Shaw, senior manager, corporate marketing Middle East and Africa HQ said: “These new screens are the first of its kind in the TV industry with its elegant design, superb graphics, and excellent features, it’s a revolutionary technology the will change the standards of home theatres and it will take Samsung brand to the next level as it’s a technological breakthrough in home entertainment solutions.”
On his part, Mr. Eddy Cherfan, CEO of CTC said: “We are proud of representing Samsung brand in Lebanon. The ceremony’s attendees had the chance to view a short 3D movie on huge screens; also they had the chance to trial the new 3D LED televisions, commending the device’s robust craftsmanship and sleek design
Samsung’s HD 3D LED TV 9000 series offer 16 times higher clarity at 960 CMR (Clear Motion Rate) than normal 60Hz screens for smooth and vivid 3D images. Moreover, the technology provides the “2D to 3D” function, allowing the conversion of normal 2D images to dynamic 3D images. The design features a high-class stainless metal chassis, the world’s slimmest panel thickness (7.98 mm) as well as a premium remote “smart controller” with a 3-inch touch screen. Equipped with Wi-Fi, the controller enables users to easily enjoy various features - including mobile TV, web surfing, and centrally managing peripheral devices – all by a simple touch of the screen. The controller also includes a rechargeable battery which can offer approximately 6 hours of continuous operation.
The HD 3D LED TV 9000 series supports applications from “Samsung Apps,” the world’s first multi-device application store. The series is also equipped with a 55-inch (139 cm) panel and is offered with a full 3D package, including a Blu-Ray Player and 3D glasses.
